Take 15 minutes to brainstorm on a topic, then move on to the next. Work through your list of ideas and sharpen your essay structure.
Pay attention to keywords in the prompt! Words like “only,” “never,” or “most” guide your response. For instance, if the prompt says, “There is only suffering in Oedipus Rex,” reflect on how much you agree with that statement—make your response powerful and clear.
Understand the differences between prompts like Discuss, To what extent do you agree?, or How…? These subtle differences matter.
